When you think of the early history of personal computing, names like Bill Gates or Steve Wozniak or maybe Alan Kay or Gary Kildall. But one name that ought to be among them, and usually isn't, is Stewart Cheifet. Though he was not a tech genius himself (trained in law and journalism), he understood the significance of the microcomputer revolution in a way that few "normies" did back then. He even had Gary Kildall co-host the program with him for the first few years, in order to fill in the "technical" gaps.
Get your popcorn ready, because we're doing a watch-along of a handful of some of the most engaging and entertaining episodes of his program "Computer Chronicles" to pay tribute to this man, who's work on that show is an indispensable resource for historians of computing.
Guys, Whoever is doing this, you don't have to, and you probably shouldn't. I'm not even sure how to refund this money.
There's no standard way to make accounts permanently free, as far as I can tell. But here's the work-around I'd prefer you use, if you want to comment on posts:
Locals doesn't allow promo-codes of more than 30 days, unfortunately.
The game I was typing in yesterday WORKS now! Well, sort of. There are bugs that need fixing, but at least you can get a semi-complete look at what we were aiming for:
1. I remain unable to figure out why Locals is only streaming 30 minutes of my livestreams. Therefore, I am posting the RUMBLE version of the video here.
2. I decided not to use Studio today, so the stream couldn't go out on X or Locals anyway. So, I have to manually post it here in any case.
